History Timeline

Our history may be short... but...

We have supported hundreds of young people in Sutton Coldfield and the surrounding areas since 2008. We know because we keep meeting them!

2024

Launch of new logo and website as part of the charity's drive to help more young people.

2023

Partnership with Riverside Academy in Erdington begins.

2021

The GapChat podcast begins. 

2018

The Gap partners with the Anna Freud Mental Health Project for young people.

2017

The Gap Studio is switched on and cranks up the volume.

2016

The Gap holds its first Mental Health Awareness for Young People Day course.

2014

The Venue receives a makeover thanks to Sutton Coldfield Municipal Charities.

2012

Volunteers and young people go on a Mission to work with children in Romania.

2011

David West-Mullen takes on the role of Project Manager.

2008

The Gap starts following concerns about the lack of support for teenagers in Sutton Coldfield. The Gap is born.
