How much does The Gap cost to run?
Our planned expenditure for the financial year 2026-2027 is £67,200.
Or £5,600 per month.
90% of the income comes from one-off donations from individuals, local groups, fundraising, schools, businesses and the majority grant applications.
Grant applications are unfortunately not guaranteed, and can take up to six months to hear if they are successful.
Around 10% of our income comes from private individuals and churches donating regularly each month. It would be great if we could build a more stable financial foundation by increasing the regular monthly donations and income.
Can you help support our work with young people?
We accept all major UK debit and credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal. However please note that a donation via a third party app, credit card or PayPal charge a transaction fee. This reduces your donation. For example PayPal charge fees of up to 2.9% plus 30p per donation and a credit card charges 0.8% - 1.5%.
If you are a UK taxpayer please complete a donor form to help us claim an extra 25% through gift aid. Please contact our office for a donor form to sign electronically and return to us.
Every penny can make a real difference in changing a young person's life for the better.

Leave a Legacy - Remember The Gap in your Will
Did you know you can also make provision in your Will to leave a legacy to The Gap (Midlands) to help the next generation?
This does not necessarily mean amending your current Will. You can add a codicil, which is a separate legal document and used to add, change, or cancel parts of an existing Will without rewriting the whole thing. It acts as an official amendment to your final wishes.
A very generous legacy in 2023 helped rebuild our reserves quickly following a difficult period of unsuccessful grant applications over a six to seven month period. It was a very generous gift and wonderfully thoughtful legacy.
