The Gap run a number of projects where we engage with, invest in and empower young people in our local area.

HeadSpace

HeadSpace

HeadSpace is our schools and college service. The project was set up in 2014 as a result of recognising a growing need to support young people experiencing issues around their mental health and/or mental well being in their school or college.

The-Gap-Venue

Venue

The Venue is an after school or college drop-in centre and is the major point of contact with young people in the area. The Venue is a safe space, and a third space between school and home. There are a varity of activities and games as well as a free hot chocolate.

OutThere!

Out There! is detached youth work in and around Sutton Coldfield Town Centre.

Studio

The Venue also has our famous recording studio facility. This allows us to provide free music recording services for young people and develop our GapChat podcasts.

How do we work?

The Gap is a charity that was established in 2008. We currently have four paid part-time staff members. We would not be able to do what we do without our amazing volunteers who give up their time to support us in the projects we run. There are over a dozen volunteers across the projects and we are always looking for more people.

How are we funded?

The Gap relies on external funding.

Over 90% of our income comes from one-off external funding and grants to support our projects.

We are supported financially on a regular basis by private individuals and a small number of local churches each month.
