Partnerships
One of the strengths of The Gap is working alongside and in partnership with other agencies and organisations who engage with local young people.
Over the years The Gap has worked, and continues to work, with a number of local charities and organisations that share a passion for young people in the area.
Sutton Coldfield Baptist Church has supported The Gap from very the beginning in 2008, and continues to offer their building for The Venue in the town centre on Trinity Hill.
Banners Gate Community Church provides an office and storage space, and this is the registered office since 2023.
We work closely within the local community and have developed close working relationships with local churches, voluntary organisations, mental health support providers, Police, Royal Sutton Coldfield Town Council, and other youth-linked organisations.
We work with young people in a variety of settings including local clubs, uniformed organisations, schools and colleges.
We have led social action projects such as decorating a local charity’s offices, painting walls at the Community Hub, litter picking projects led by the Police and being part of an international social action project in Romania.
We work with Sutton Coldfield YMCA and Erdington YMCA, who have assisted some of the young people that we have been supporting. We have also worked with Clifton Road Youth Centre on various creative and sports-based projects. In the past we have partnered with Our Place Support Hub in setting up a drug/drink awareness and activity day at a local outward bound centre.
We encouraged local sharing of youth-related working by setting up Youth Vision, a quarterly meeting with representatives from youth groups, the Council, Police, churches, the West Midlands Violence Reduction Unit, Our Place Support Hub, Early Help and many more.

Funders
We reply on external funders to help support the work we do, They are one of the foundations that have helped build and sustain the work of The Gap over the years.
We have a faithful group of private donors each month but as we have grown to cope with increased demand we also increasingly rely on fundraising including one-off donations from individuals, local clubs, organisations and businesses along with a regular cycle of external grant applications to charitable trusts and foundations. Some of our funders have been supporting us for many years. Some are new. All are welcome. All share in the work we are able to do and how we can help young people today and tomorrow.
In 2026 we are particularly grateful to The National Lottery Community Awards for All and Sutton Coldfield Charitable Trust.
