Engaging with & investing in young people
About The Gap

How can I volunteer? We rely on a dedicated team of volunteers to help run The Venue drop-in centre. If you can spare a few hours once a week, or more, you can make a real difference. You may also be interested in becoming one of our mentors in schools and colleges, and we currently have a waiting list for young people needing help. We require a minimum of a recognised Level 3 qualification in Mentoring. You may have social media or admin skills that can help run The Gap's activities and operations. Many hands make light work... Contact our office by email or phone to take the next step with The Gap.

How can I donate?Around a third of our income comes from regular private donors and the rest from one-off grants. It makes planning our finances challenging and exciting. You can help local young people and keep the projects going by committing to a regular monthly donation, giving a one-off sum, fundraising, nominating our charity for your business, social group or amongst friends, or raising money from birthday or anniversary gifts. You may also consider making a provision in your will, so that you can leave a lasting legacy for the next generation. We recommend donors pay directly into our bank account rather than via a third party app. Paying direct means The Gap receive 100% of your donation. Third party payment apps reduce the donation amount with their fees and transaction charges. We are grateful for all donations, and understand convenience is also important for some. Thank you for your support. To find out more please visit our giving page on the website:

Who are we?We are a registered charity focused on young people 12-18 years old. We offer a safe space to relax, play games and make friends after school and college. We work in schools and colleges providing assemblies and workshops on mental health and wellbeing, as well as one to one mentoring, helping prepare young people to survive their teenage years and prepare for life after school and college. We go out into Sutton Coldfield to engage with young people where they are in the Gracechurch shopping centre and surrounding areas to offer support where appropriate.
Every young person deserves a chance to succeed. We are committed to empowering them to achieve their dreams.
Since 2008 The Gap has been supporting teenagers and young people in Sutton Coldfield and the local areas.
