Summer at The Gap

4 Sept 2025

Fun, Friendship, and Creativity!

This summer has been buzzing with activity at The Gap, and we’ve loved seeing so many young people get involved in our sessions. From outdoor fun to creative workshops, it’s been a season full of energy, learning, and connection.

One of the highlights was Gap in the Park, where young people came together for games, sports, and a chance to enjoy the sunshine as a community. It was a fantastic way to bring people together, and the atmosphere was full of laughter and teamwork.

We also ran our Year 6 Mixer sessions, designed to support children making the big move up to secondary school. Pupils from Moor Hall, Little Sutton, St Josephs and Deanery joined us as they began their transitions over the summer into their new schools, with many of them attending Arthur Terry, Fair Fax and Bishop Vesey in September. These sessions gave young people the chance to make new friends, build confidence, and talk about any worries they had — all in a safe and fun environment. It was brilliant to see friendships forming and to hear young people say they now feel more prepared for September. We offered a variety of different workshops such as crocheting, clay modelling, bike repairing and painting.

We’re so proud of everything our young people have taken part in this summer, and we’re excited to keep building on this energy as we move into the autumn term.
