Venue Re-opened 13th November

The Venue re-opened on Wednesday 13th November and we welcomed in 27 young people. Its been a long time since it was closed end of July by the council as there were problems with the retaining wall near the car park. The council have completed the building work which allowed the car park and Venue to re-open.

We don’t consider Venue to be a "youth club" although we have a number of activities that would generally be associated with youth clubs. We see it more as a safe place for young people to chill, relax, hang-out with friends, meet new people or just to come and have a free hot chocolate. Venue offers a pool table, a recording studio for podcasts or song writing, Air Hockey, PlayStation and table tennis as well as providing a relaxing, chilled environment and supplemented by one free Hot Chocolate Mountain.

These weekly sessions allow for relationships to be built through conversations. These in turn provide a way for us to work more specifically with individuals that may need help and guidance in changing behaviours, moving forward through education, dealing with personal issues and other obstacles they may be facing. If you are aged 12-18 please come along and say hello.
